Take Profit and Stop Loss for Pump.fun Tokens
pump.fun has no order book. How to set take profit, stop loss, sell-in-parts and sell-if-dev-sells exits on market cap - and their honest limits.
pump.fun has no order book, so there is no "limit sell" to place. A take profit or stop loss on a bonding-curve token has to be something that watches the market and sells for you when a condition is met. This post explains what to trigger on, which exit rules are worth setting before you need them, and how tasks work in SolBundle's terminal.
Trigger on market cap, not price
A pump.fun token's price is a long string of zeros that is hard to reason about. Market cap is the same signal in readable units - every token has the same fixed supply, so market cap moves exactly with price - and it is what charts, scanners and other traders quote. "Sell half at $40K, everything if it falls back to $8K" is a plan you can actually hold in your head.
The four exit rules worth having
Take profit
Sell a percentage when market cap reaches a level. Most people scale out rather than exit at once: 25-50% at the first target recovers the initial stake, the rest rides. It fires once.
Stop loss
Sell a percentage when market cap falls to a level. On thin curve liquidity, a stop is a promise to try at that level, not a guaranteed fill - a fast dump can carry the price through it before the sell lands. Setting it a little above where you really want out gives the sell room to land.
Sell in parts
Sell a percentage every N seconds, a set number of times. This spreads an exit over time instead of hitting the curve with one large sell, which moves the price less.
Sell if the dev sells
Many coins die when the creator dumps. This rule watches the live trade feed for the creator wallet and sells your chosen percentage every time it sells. To check what a dev wallet has been doing before you buy, see is the dev wallet holding or selling.
How tasks work in SolBundle
In the terminal, open Tasks → New task, pick the type, the percentage, which wallets (all, all except the dev, or only the dev) and the level or interval, then Arm task.
- Armed tasks are checked every two seconds against the live market cap and trade feed.
- When one fires, the sells go out like a bulk sell: private Jito bundles of up to five wallets.
- If none of a take-profit or stop-loss sell lands, it tries again every ten seconds while the condition still holds.
- Sell in parts runs at most every ten seconds.
- Locked wallets are never touched by a task.
- Pause, resume or delete any task; its last log line shows what it did.
One honest limit: tasks run in your browser tab. They are saved per token and resume when you reopen it, but nothing executes while the tab is closed - the browser asks before you close a tab with armed tasks. Keep the terminal open while you want them active.
A simple plan to start with
- Take profit: sell 50% from all wallets except dev at 2-3× your entry market cap.
- Stop loss: sell 100% from all wallets except dev at about half your entry.
- Sell if dev sells: 100% from all wallets except dev.
Adjust to the coin; the point is to decide before the chart moves, not during. See also exit strategies.
Frequently asked questions
Can I set a stop loss on a pump.fun token?
pump.fun has no order book, so stops have to be run by a tool that watches the market and sells for you. In SolBundle's terminal a stop-loss task sells your chosen percentage when market cap falls to your level.
Is a stop loss guaranteed to fill at my level?
No. On thin bonding-curve liquidity a fast dump can move the price past your level before the sell lands. Set the stop a little above where you really want out.
Do tasks keep running if I close the browser?
No. Tasks run in the open terminal tab. They are saved and resume when you reopen the token, but nothing executes while the tab is closed.
Can I sell automatically when the dev wallet sells?
Yes. The 'sell if dev sells' task watches the live trade feed and sells your chosen percentage every time the creator wallet sells.
